I love that filming weddings takes us all over the place. We get to see so many beautiful venues in perfect locations. Beaches, Woods, Mountains, we get to film them all!
When Jana and Ray contacted me about doing their wedding at the Onteora Mountain House (originally built by Richard Hellman of Hellman's mayonnaise for his summer home) in the Catskills I was excited! I knew the scenery would be breathtaking and they found me from a referral from a past couple who I adore, so I knew this would be special - unfortunately as I eagerly checked my calendar I saw I was already booked for their date. I was so sad. I started crafting an email telling them I was unavailable when I recieved an email from the wedding planner of the couple who was booked the same date - they needed to move their wedding date earlier in the season because sadly, the bride's father was sick. Everything happens for a reason - we were not only able to accommodate the previous couple on their new date and deliver an unbelievable memory for their family we were now available for Jana and Ray's wedding!
This wedding did not disappoint! First and foremost - Jana and Ray (and their friends and families!) are among the sweetest, most welcoming people I have ever met - then add in the beautiful scenery and the amazing vendors and it was a perfect day!
And the venue was spectacular! Amazing views, great space and a wonderful staff!
The day started with hair, makeup and drinks and some of the most heartfelt and beautiful cards they wrote to each other to read during prep.
After a beautiful ceremony officiated by one of the bridesmaids (who did a fantastic job!) it was time to party the night away with music being played by the fantastic band, The Barnstorm. They had the dance floor packed all night playing hits from all different decades - lots of 90's, and it was PERFECT!
This little blog post doesn't even begin to touch the surface on how awesome this day was and how perfect Jana and Ray are so you'll just have to watch their highlight to see how great the day was!
