Our industry is ever changing and ever growing and just reading about it isn’t enough – you really need to make an effort to get and keep getting educated. Enter In[Focus], a 3 day long series of seminars put together by some of our industries best, featuring some of our industries best.

This past week was spent in Charleston, South Carolina for In[Focus] 2012 with about 200 of the best wedding and event filmmakers in the world. There, we were educated on everything from branding to lenses, story telling to the business side of things and beyond.

Outside of the seminars, there was more to learn. Everyone there was an open book. If you had questions, or I was asked questions they would be answered without hesitation. We quickly learned it has nothing to do with being competitors and everything to do with bettering ourselves, our skills and our businesses and growing the industry.

Outside of all I learned, I walked away with dozens of new friends who I know I can lean on for anything, especially business questions.

Keeping up with education is SO important, especially in an industry that is ever evolving between style and technology. BIG THINGS are coming for 2012 and I cannot wait to share all the new found knowledge and ideas I have.

I cannot wait until In[Focus] 2013!
